Razer is known for manufacturing high quality products and the new Razer Blade Stealth RZ09-01962E12-R3U1 is no exception. With a stunning exterior made from aluminum and a powerful processor on the inside, this laptop is a heavy hitter. However, with all the bits, comes the cost and this thing isn’t cheap.
Processor: Intel Core 7th Generation i7 2.7 GHz (Turbo to 3.5 GHz)
Memory: 16 GB of LPDDR3 RAM
Storage: 512 GB SSD
Screen: 12.5 Inches
OS: Windows 10
The device gets its computational power from a dual core 7th Generation i7 processor. The i7 is Intel’s top of the line class for consumer processors and will churn out really high performance. Add to that 16 GB dual channel DDR3 RAM and this laptop turns into quite the beastly little device. The onboard storage of the device utilizes a 512 GB PCIe SSD for really high data rates, compared to hard drives. The laptop also has 12.5 inch IGZO QHD Touchscreen that can run on 1440p.
The laptop features high speed connectivity options such as a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port that allows for up to 40 Gbps transfer rates. It also has the 802.11 Wi-Fi port and Bluetooth v4.1 for wireless communication. The device gets its power from a Lithium Ion battery.
At just 0.52 inches thick, the laptop is sleek and has a slim profile, as with most modern laptops. The body is light and weighs only 2.84 pounds. This is thanks to the fact that body is made using aircraft grade aluminum, making it not only light but strong and sturdy as well. A great new feature is the Razer Chroma Keyboard that allows for 16.8 million color options per key. The anti-ghosting provides a comfortable typing experience. The device can be customized with respect to the keyboard color.
The Razer Blade Stealth Ultrabook is a great premium laptop but it has its downsides. The cost for such great features is high and it’s why the laptop is usually priced well over a $1000. Needless to say, the second hand ones don’t come cheap either.
An issue with such a great device is that it lacks in the graphics department. The device does not have a dedicated graphics processing unit, such as those provided by NVidia or AMD. Rather, it relies on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 for rendering. Although this basic GPU will work well with simple things like music videos, when it comes to higher resolutions, it will be a bottleneck. The device, even though it has a great processor and generous amount of RAM, won’t be the best option for games due to the lack of a dedicated GPU.
The Razer Blade Stealth Ultrabook is a great device. It is very fast and can easily breeze through most of the workload you put its way. It does lack in a few places but more than makes up for that in its great combination of premium feel, amazing design, light weight and portability, and great processing power.
