Benefits

  • The 1.6GHz Intel Pentium N3710 quad-core processor matched with 4GB of DDR4 RAM will provide you with excellent performance for normal activities such as word processing, light multitasking and web browsing.
  • The 802.11ac Wi-Fi is built in and enables you to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot or your wireless home network seamlessly.
  • Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 enables you to pair with Bluetooth enabled devices such as speakers, printers and smartphones for a problem free wireless experience.
  • The HDMI connectivity provides you with the option of connecting your laptop to an HDTV and view your content on a big screen.
  • The micro SD card reader is built in, making it easy to transfer photos or videos from your camera.

Downsides

  • The 4 GB of RAM is the most that can be used with this laptop as the RAM is soldered to the IC.

Verdict

Although this would be a good, affordable laptop for your child in grade school and will work perfectly for homework and YouTube, it won’t be much use beyond that. For everyday office or work use however, it struggles with very basic web browsing or even simple word processing. The lightweight processor means that this device is essentially a tablet packaged as a laptop, and the performance (or lack thereof), clearly shows this.
