Memory: 8 GB of RAM

Storage: 1 TB SATA

Screen: 15.6 Inch Touchscreen

Benefits

It is hard to understand just how much of a benefit having a laptop that can convert to exactly what you need when you need it is until you have owned a convertible laptop yourself. No matter what task you are trying to complete the Lenovo Flex 80R40008US has the perfect mode for you and it is a great way to avoid having to have multiple devices which in the long run saves you money, Laptop, tablet, stand and tent modes are what is available.

For an affordable convertible laptop Lenovo has done a nice job of making sure it still includes good enough hardware to perform well. The Intel Core i5 may not turn heads like the i7 but it is still a very capable processor and far from a budget model. This along with 8 GB of memory gives you laptop that will easily handle day to day tasks and even has enough power to run large applications and do heavy multi-tasking without getting bogged down.

Downsides

There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot that Lenovo missed when designing the Flex 80R40008US but like always we are able to dig up some things that we feel could have been improved and we start with the choice in storage. Lenovo went with the larger 1 TB SATA drive over a much better performing SSD, While the SSD may not have provided the same storage capacity it could have benefited from both a performance increase as well as a reliability upgrade especially for a device that is designed to be used on the go and will end up getting the bumps associated with such activity.

Verdict

With most convertibles being either really well designed but high priced, Or budget friendly and lacking any real performance the Lenovo Flex 80R40008US seems to fit nicely in the middle by being affordable while not giving up too much in regards to features and performance. This great combination should make the Flex a very popular option as we go into the Christmas season.
