HP 250 G4 15.6 Review

HP introduces the fourth generation of its low-cost laptop, with the 250 G4. It comes with  pre-install with Windows 10. This laptop has enough computing power and spec for all common applications that you would have. Microsoft Office, internet browsing and watching films it can handle but just don’t expect it to run heavy games, as it may straggle at the high frame rate. As it has the lower GPU mid-range AMD’s Radeon R5 M330. The Intel Core i5-5200U has a base speed of 2.2 GHZ, which can be boosted to 2.5 GHz, so the processing is decent for this price.

The casing is made of a matte, black plastic, which is nothing amazing. Although the back of the lid has got a diamond shaped pattern to is which does feel nice to the touch, but not everyone will like it. Although the HP 250 G4 feels like it was well built and solid.

The HP 250 G4 has the standard expected connectivity, with a VGA-out, Gigabit Ethernet, an HDMI, a single USB 3.0, and 2 x USB 2.0. Having the dual output, VGA and HDMI is handy as it will easily allow you to connect to almost any monitor or TV. The laptop also comes with a DVD writer, which I still believe is a must in a laptop.  It has the standard 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, although it would have been nice to see an AC on it.

The display is what you pay for, it is low end and will not dazzle you with the quality but for your day to day or as a study laptop it will be fine. The pixel is set at the resolution of 1366 x 768 on the 15.6-inch screen.

Conclusion:

A low-resolution display budget laptop which come with an Intel Core-series processor bring the HP 250 G4 to a good basic all-rounder. This could be your first laptop, the processor is good the build feels strong. If you own a business or looking for your department laptop it may also suit your needs. If you intend to use Office on it for most of the time then it may be well suited for you.  It is not the lightest 15-inch laptop out on the market or the best looking but it will get the job done.
