Specs

Processor: Intel Celeron N3060

Memory: 4 GB of RAM

Storage: 32 GB eMMC SSD

Display: 14 Inch Non-Touchscreen

OS: Windows 10

Other colors available.

Benefits

Small and compact is the name of the game for the 14-AX010CA and it has some specs that will make mobile users smile. The total weight of the device comes in at a feather light 1.44 Kg and just as important the thickness ( or thinness? ) is just 0.7 inches.

HP has still been able to pack quite a bit into the tiny frame of this unit starting with USB ports. While many bigger models restrict you to just 2 this small competitor packs in 3 with 2 of them running on the much faster USB 3.0 technology. That isn’t all, you will also find must haves such as HDMI, Built in webcam, memory card reader and Bluetooth technology included.

The 14 inch display seems to be a nice balance on staying small and compact but without giving up so much screen real estate which seems to be the feeling on 13.3 inch screens.

Downsides

Not surprisingly performance is going to be a hot topic while talking about the 14-AX010CA which is the case with any budget friendly laptop. As expected the hardware is not overly impressive as the Intel Celeron with just 4 GB of memory is not going to amaze anybody with its blazing speed. This hardware will have no trouble keeping up with basic tasks but if you plan on putting heavy loads on it you will start to see just why the price was so attractive.

Some things you might take for granted are not going to be included in this budget design such as touchscreen and even the optical drive has been stripped away to help keep in extra thin and light.

Verdict

The 14-AX010CA servers a very niche market of those that do not need high end performance but instead something very small and compact and it does serve this niche very well. If you fit this category this new release from HP may just be a great fit.
