Marketed as a gaming laptop the Dell Inspiron i7559-5637BLK is next up on our list to review. This laptop has some impressive specs at a quick glance which we would completely expect on any gaming rig. Below we are going to dive into this model from Dell a bit more and see just how well it stacks up.
Processor: Intel Core i7-6700HQ
Memory: 8 GB of RAM
Storage: 1 TB SATA
Screen: 15.6 Inch Non-Touchscreen
OS: Windows 10
A critical piece on any gaming PC weather it be a laptop or desktop is the graphics card, with how demanding all the latest games are just having a powerful processor and plenty of memory isn’t going to cut it. The Dell Inspiron i7559-5637BLK comes with an NVIDIA GTX 960M GDDR5 graphics card which should easily be up to the challenge of playing the latest games smoothly or even video editing if that is your thing.
It comes packed with a top of the line processor as well to make sure this doesn’t become a bottleneck for you when putting this laptop through its paces. The Intel Core i7 easily beats out the lesser models when it comes to raw performance.
Any gamer or power user is going to have peripherals that are required to fully enjoy the experience and luckily this Inspiron comes with not 2 but 3 USB ports which each one of them running on the newer and much faster 3.0 technology. You will also find must haves like HDMI and Bluetooth available.
While we can appreciate the need for plenty of storage and that is exactly what you get with the large 1 TB SATA drive for a PC that is geared toward high end performance it is surprising to not see a much faster SSD drive or even a hybrid configuration of both which we have seen with other similar models.
The processor is powerful on the Dell Inspiron i7559-5637BLK but the memory is just basic and similar to what you see on even some of the higher end budget laptop models. Same as above with a laptop that is built for gaming and high performance it is surprising this hasn’t been increased.
No question the Dell Inspiron i7559-5637BLK is a powerful machine and could be a very decent gaming rig but Dell has seemed to stop short of including what some others are such as more memory and an SSD drive which would boost performance.
