Dell has done a nice job of covering all the bases with the i5559-5747SLV and coming out with a very well rounded laptop that is still quite affordable.

The powerful Intel Core i5 processor along with 8 GB of memory gives this laptop some very respectable performance that can easily handle an average users workload without getting bogged down.

The 15.6 inch screen seems to be a good middle ground when it comes to size, Small enough to still make for a portable device but large enough that you have plenty of viewing area when it comes down to trying to get some serious work done or watch the latest entertainment online.

With a large 1 TB hard drive those who want plenty of storage space should be quite pleased and find plenty of room for their latest digital files or work related documents.

As we mentioned above this Inspiron model is quite basic without any really over the top new features that some users crave.

For example you will not find touch screen available on this device which is always a nice additional feature that can make your user experience that much better.

It completely depends on the user if this next item is actually a downside or a benefit. Unlike many of the new laptops the i5559-5747SLV comes with a DVD/CD drive which adds additional weight to the device but for those who haven’t moved away from physical media is a great feature to have included.

Overall the Dell Inspiron 5000 i5559-5747SLV has plenty going for it without any big noticeable downsides. Other then the fact it lacks some newer features such as touchscreen but this also helps keep the price reasonable.

For those looking for a basic, well-rounded laptop for everyday use this seems to be a winner.
