Specs

Processor: AMD A10-9600

Memory: 12 GB of RAM

Storage: 1 TB SATA

Screen: 15.6 Inch Non-Touchscreen

OS: Windows 10

Benefits

The obvious spot to start with the Asus X-Series X555QA-BH10-CB is what it has packed in for specifications. Instead of going with the more popular but also more expensive Intel option they have opted to include an AMD instead, more specifically the AMD A10-9600. Luckily they didn’t just stop at the processor though and have also included a very impressive 12 GB of ram which easily beats out many other similar priced models which tend to include about 8 GB.

You shouldn’t be in need of extra storage space anytime soon if going with this X-Series model as the large 1 TB drive gives the user tons of space no matter what type of files you frequently save.

While physical media is slowly being phased out and replaced by much more convenient digital options for many there is still a need for an optical drive to read and write too this media. Unfortunately for those users many newer models have begin to remove this option but luckily this Asus model has not and you will be able to read all your discs with no trouble at all.

Downsides

Touchscreen has taken off big time as more and more consumers get used to the technology and make it a integral part of how they use their systems. For those who have fully embraced this technology or want to give it a run with their new laptop purchase the fact that it is not included here will be a disappointment.

For some going in a different direction then the majority is seen as an unnecessary risk, and with Intel firmly entrenched at number one in the processor market the fact this model includes an AMD processor will be enough to turn some away even with the long successful track record they have been able to accomplish after many years in the PC market.

Verdict

You may have a tough time trying to find another laptop that comes this well equipped at such an affordable price mainly due to the fact an AMD has been chosen over the more expensive Intel options. If the fact of going with AMD vs Intel doesn’t scare you ( Which it shouldn’t ) this is an option you should be looking at very closely for your next buy.

  1. It’s been a few days since I have bought Asus X555QA. I have installed for a total of about 60 gigs of softwares and documents and the system has not slowed.

Keyboard is very smood to use and battery life is perfect for those 3-hour university classes as long as you use the energy saving mode.
