They offer high processing power but still come in rather slim cases but Acer is moving away from that with the Nitro 5 AN515-51. This is a full gaming laptop, with the help of the quad-core processor and the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with 4GB of GDDR5. Although it is not as powerful as some others on the market the price put it on the top of first time gamers. The Acer has chosen a black case for the Nitro 5, which is highlighted by red hinges and a red border around the touch-pad.
The Acer Nitro 5 has three Type-A USB ports (2x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.1 gen 1) and the single Type-C port also only offers the USB 3.1 gen 1 standard. the port are more toward the back of the side of the laptop which is always better as the front side remain clear. It does supports the Wi-Fi standards 802.11 a/g/n as well as the faster ac, which in today’s world is really expected in a laptop for this cost. If there was anything less i would stop right here.
The web cam is disappointing it is not clear and sometimes seems grainy, but it will get the job done. The Nitro 5 comes with a backlit chiclet keyboard, back lighting color is red, but this can be turned on and off with the function key. The mouse pad has a smooth surface which makes the pad easy for fingers to glide on.
The matte 15.6-inch display of the Nitro 5 has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. With the matte screen is does help a lot, and i generally prefer it. If you sit where there is some bright light behind you the matte screen still always you to to still see without too much reflection.

The Acer Nitro 5 is an inexpensive gaming laptop that promises a good gaming experience even at full HD resolution, it does have a long battery life and is lighter than some other 15-inch gaming laptops. A fast SSD and a strong quad-core processor ensure a fast-running system. But the device also does a good job in general usage areas (office, Internet). It makes hardly any noise under low load and while idling, and it hardly heats up even when under load. If you are looking for a cheap gaming laptop the this should be on your list.
