Specs

Processor: Intel Core i5-6200U

Memory: 8 GB of RAM

Storage: 1 TB SATA

Screen: 15.6 Inch Touchscreen

OS: Windows 10

Benefits

Touchscreen is a great way to interact with your laptop as it has a more natural feel then simply using a mouse and keyboard, And for anybody who owns a smartphone or tablet they are already very use to this technology. The standard sized 15.6 inch screen that comes on the Acer Aspire E5-575T-52XC is ready to go with this feature right out of the box due to coming pre-loaded with Windows 10.

Acer has done a nice job of making sure this model will keep up with not just basic users but those who put a little bit more stress on their technology as well. The powerful Intel Core i5 is only a small step down from the high end i7 and can hold its own quite well and by putting enough memory, in the case 8 GB you end up with a machine that can perform.

By stripping out the optical drive and focusing on design Acer has come up with a full sized laptop which does well when it comes to portability. With 8 hours of battery life and a weight of 2.4 Kg it can be a useful companion when on the road or working around the classroom or office.

Downsides

We feel an SSD would have really put the Acer Aspire E5-575T-52XC over the top and provided a great lower cost option with performance that would have easily beat out much of its competition. The large 1 TB that comes with it is useful for heavy file savers but cannot compete when it comes to performance against an SSD.

Something as simple as a backlit keyboard seems trivial but sometimes minor features can make a big difference and the lack of this extra nice to have feature is a strike against this otherwise nice machine.

Verdict

Wanting to jump into the touchscreen market but have a budget to watch out for as well then this is a great choice that gives you just that but keeps you away from some of the low powered budget devices on the market.
